Always test your long URL before shortening it. If it doesn't work as a long URL, it won't work as a short URL either.
A shortened URL will not give off-campus people access to on-campus resources.
If you have a tiny URL to begin with, I might not necessarily make it any shorter.
If you shorten an https:// URL, the short URL will be http:// and it will correctly redirect to the https:// long URL.
Always test your short URLs after generating them.
